This was written by my friend Russ and I wanted to share it because it's how I feel as well.
There is a lot of anxiety and uncertainty about our future, as a Nation. Obama. McCain. People are held captive by their fears of what they may be waking up to November 5.
As a Nation, it seems like we are walking on a tight rope, hanging in the balance. But as children of God, we have to realize something -
God's kingdom will come.
One man cannot stop it. God's kingdom will not change. Christ is King of all kings. Do you know that God is the one who chooses? The king's heart is like channels of water in the hand of the LORD; He turns it wherever He wishes (Prov 21:1). Friends, let us not limit God.
Our next President may hold the saber of power over this Nation, but we are the ones who have the keys to the Kingdom of heaven: "I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." (Matthew 16:19)
There is no other king but Christ. Obama will one day bow. McCain will one day bow... to our King. Our freedoms as Christians can never be taken away. The unction and power we have... that seed in us, can never be taken away. If anything, and as history has it, the Church always thrives - even under oppression.
The Nations will rage, but God is still God. The gates of hell will never prevail against the true Church. Cast the ballot of your life on the One who cannot fail, the Christ who holds the keys to death and hell itself. And if we are joint heirs, and He desire to give us His kingdom - it is within - then we have nothing or no one to fear. Death itself is powerless.
This is what God is saying to us today, November 2, 2008:
'According to the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, so My Spirit remains among you; do not fear!'
"For thus says the LORD of hosts: 'Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; 'and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,' says the LORD of hosts.
'The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,' says the LORD of hosts.
'The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,' says the LORD of hosts. 'And in this place I will give peace,' says the LORD of hosts."
HAGGAI 2:5-9
Who then is in control? Are you found in Him?
Read Psalm 46 and may you find rest and confidence in God this day.
