Art Binge!

Celestial Lovers

That's what I had tonight, an art BINGE!! Just hung out in the studio till inspiration hit!! I forgot that I made a bunch of clay pieces last year to use in my art. I was originally looking for my paper clay which I still can't find but ended up finding my bag of clay pieces! This is what I created tonight! I'll take better photos but for now you can see. It was fun having paint and gel medium all over my fingers!!

I should get to bed. I'm up late again and tomorrow is my baby girls 3rd birthday! Actually in about 45 minutes, 3 years ago tonight I had her! WOW!!!

Enjoy my binge!

Tomorrow is the BIG day!

Lorelei gets her cast off tomorrow morning at 9:15 am! I'm so excited and nervous all rolled up into one. She has been such an amazing, strong, little girl through this whole process. She totally got it the entire time and knew that something was wrong with her leg but the huge, hIdEOus spica cast was going to make it all better. We had some incredible bonding moments with Lorelei during this time and we tried to make the best of it on a daily basis, it wasn't always easy but here we are at the end! Six weeks felt like an eternity but then it also flew. We all survived and found out how strong we really are.

I wanted to thank everyone for their kind thoughts, prayers, words of encouragement (for J and I), videos and gifts galore for Lo and things to keep her busy. I have some amazing people I call my friends. A lot of you who sent things I have never met in person but you still cared for us. I am blessed by all of you and truly thankful for you all. I know for a fact the tremendous outpouring has blessed others around me. You are all amazing and kind and for that I love you.

It's going to take some time to get back into the normal routine and for Lorelei to walk normal so continued prayers are appreciated. I am going to be her physical therapist as well and take her swimming as much as I can during the recovery process. I know my little dynamo will be back stronger than ever, probably sooner than I can imagine.

I just wanted you to know how blessed we are to have you in our lives. Thank you.

Much love,

Aimée, Jason and Lorelei

Time to Clear Out!!!

Hi all!!

I've been cleaning out my studio the last few days and it's a disaster zone!!! I should have those yellow warning strips all over the place. Caution look out for falling art! The good thing is I have found things that have been missing for forever, things I have forgotten about and more. I am starting to see my desk which means more room for more art. I've put purchased art up on the wall where it should be finally and will post a photo when my studio becomes clean again.

Speaking of art, I have listed 4 originals on ArtFire and 4 originals on Etsy. We'll see which sells faster! I need to get rid of these pieces, I have no more room in my bulging studio. If you see something you like please TWEET it or pass it on to someone else I would like to clear things out.

Here's what was listed in my ArtFire Shop:

Swirlyville Flowers

Love
She Discovered What Was Inside

Stand Out In Your Field

Here's what was listed in my Etsy shop:

Everything A Girl Could Want
Among the Blossoms
Chocolate Chip Bouquet
In the Land of Good and Plenty

PHEW!! That was exhausting!

And ....

since some of you haven't seen her in awhile ... here's Miss Lorelei modeling for me! She's getting so big and so fun! Thought you might like to see her.

Thanks for stopping by!

Cake face!

I can't believe this but my baby girl turned 2 this last weekend! Yes, Sunday the 18th was her birthday. We celebrated her birthday on Saturday with a really small party with close kiddo friends and family. It was Finding Nemo themed and she was thrilled! I'm still in shock we've reached the "terrible twos". I pray that this year goes smoothly. She's totally coming into her personality even more than ever. Poor baby ended up getting sick the night of her birthday and is just now getting better.

I'm so blessed to be her mama. She's starting to get really clingy with me which is draining at times but this is the first time she's ever been that way, she's usually so independent. I love that she wants to cuddle with me nightly now and she gives me random hugs and says, "I love you Mama." I LOVE my little girl and I can't wait to see what this year brings for her! She's my little buddy and I love being around her!

OK I'll stop being a sap!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Lolo Bear!!! I love you!!

This & That

Well we had a wonderful weekend. We took Lorelei for her very first horse ride. He was a miniature horse named Willy and he was at our local orchard. We took her there to go on a wagon ride, get some cider donuts and apple cider and look at all the pumpkins. The horses were a bonus. She loved every minute of it. Such a brave kiddo at 20 months old.

Got some bad news this morning, my gym is closing at the end of the week. Now what? I was just getting into going again after we were all sick for a few weeks. Off to another gym, again. I was bummed. I was clueless to when I walked in even though everything was off the walls and it looked empty, duh! I wasn't awake it was 6 am.

Just joined Suzi Blu's class, Les Petites Dolls and so far I love it. I'm way behind everyone else but I really wanted to take it and was thrilled when I found out I could still! These are some of my sketches.

I'm also taking Paulette Insalls, Organic Dimensions Background class. I'm working on 2 canvases for that. I am totally loving that class as well! Trying out new techniques and I'm super excited as far as art goes.

So that's my update for now. Off to watch Heroes with the hubby!

Night all!

The simple things

I'm just simply amazed by my sweet daughter Lorelei. She's my ultimate daily companion, my little mini me, my ham, my girlie girl, my dare devil, my little lover girl. She is my world. She is constantly WOWING me on a daily basis. OK so I am gushing about my kid, so what you know you all do it! ;) She is my joy and I just love how the littlest thing that would have never caught my attention ALWAYS catches hers and she stops to ponder and take it all in. I can't even walk 2 feet in my weed covered yard without her stopping to pick an "ow" (flower), even if it's a dead one. She sees a rock and it EXCITES her. She see's rainwater left over in the dogs bowl and wants to SPLASH! She seizes every moment! If anything she has taught me to enjoy the simple things every day. I need to stop and slow down and really see what is around me and take it all in and enjoy it. I need to be happy even if it's raining out or the house is dirty because I've been too busy playing with her or creating art. My ultimate job on this earth is to keep her happy, safe, LOVED ... ALWAYS. I write this as a reminder to myself and to others who need to hear to slow down and ENJOY the simple things.

This picture is so fitting for this post because she was thrilled to be sitting in this big cushy chair at April Cornell with her new bear and her always close companion Mr. Moose and a lemon cookie that they gave her. This is a moment of pure joy and probably my newest favorite shot of her!

What inspired this is this entry by Chrysti.

Take time to enjoy the simple things today.

OXOXOX

Front of dress

Front detail

Well my daughter just turned 18 months old last week and that means photo time. So of course I had to find the perfect outfit for her photoshoot. Well I found it!!! I had hearted a shop on Etsy a few months back that I found in one of it's famous treasuries and knew it was the perfect outfit. I noticed she did custom dresses for little ones. Lorelei is very petite and I knew this would be the best option. I contacted the lovely shop owner Becki and she was so quick to respond and was very excited about doing this for me. She turned this adorable custom dress out in 3 days even with major serger problems but she kept in contact the whole time and about where she was in the process. She didn't have this color combination but I love aqua and red together. She paid a lot of attention to detail and when I get it I'm sure it's going to fit my daughter perfectly!! She has an adult poppy dress that I hope to own once I get some more weight off! PLEASE check out her amazing shop! You won't be disappointed. She also does custom wedding dress portraits that are beautiful.

That's it just wanted to show off some great talent!

Have a beautiful day!

I've been inked!! FINALLY!

Some of you know I've been wanting to get this tattoo for quite some time, well today was the day! I'm so excited at how it turned out. It didn't hurt as bad as I had built it up in my head. My good friend Holly came with me to document it! If you'd like to see more photos you can see them here. I know this means if I have another kid in the future that means another tat, cool with me!!

Spring Speaks

Well hello there! Long time no blog!! Well the Wheaton fam is back from vacation and trying to get back into the swing of things. Florida was wonderful and I was dreading coming back to the cold. It didn't help that the day I landed it was sooo cold out and wind gusts up to 40 mph. YUCK! I'm dreaming of Spring now, it helps me to get through the cold days. I created Spring Speaks, the third piece of my Seasonal Series. Here's to first blooms, cute butterflies and lots of sun!!! This piece makes me feel all warm inside and gives me hope that it will warm up soon!!!

Traveling with my 14 mos. old was not fun by myself on the way home. On the way down it was rough but Daddy was there to pass her off to when I needed to. She didn't sleep at all on the flight down and it was at night. I think she knew she was going on vacation. She was so stimulated with all the sun, the pool, new adventures and new people. It was so fun watching her experience all the new things she did. This picture sums up Lorelei on a daily basis!! Watching life through a child's eyes is wonderful!! Here's to much happiness and a VERY HAPPY Spring!

Until later!

Tattoo update!

Well as some of you know I've been contemplating for over a year about getting a tattoo representing my daughter and for my love for her. I am THRILLED to say it hit me last night while in bed!!! She was just diagnosed with a Stills Murmur by her pediatrician the other day. It's nothing horrible or bad, nothing wrong with her heart or any cause for concern, I did some research and found out the other name for it. It is called the "musical heart", this soooo fits her!! She was dancing in my womb and has always been around music, this is the first baby I know who has had an iPod in her room since the day she was born. She dances to every type of music even in commercials, she definitely has a musical heart!! So this is the basis of my tat, I want the heart to be the main part of a body of a bird, coming from the back side of the bird will be musical bars with notes from the song "Miracle" by Celine Dion (this song is exactly how I feel about her), the notes and bars will flow into feathery swirls (tying into my love of swirls and my series Swirlyville). I want it to be soft and flowy!! I'm sooooooo excited about this and that the idea finally came to me. I tried drawing it out but the idea in my head and what's on paper aren't meshing so I'm going to go to the tattoo artists today and see if they can sketch it out for me. I'm going to put in on the inside of my left wrist, where my creativity flows from, I'm a lefty and she's my inspiration!!! So when I have the sketch I'll show ya and when I get the tatt I'll show you as well! I'm sooooooo very happy about it!!!!!

My baby girl is 1 today!

I can't believe how fast a year has gone! She's such a wonderful daughter and watching her grow daily has been a blessing. She's doing so much now and is just soooo much fun. We're celebrating with a big birthday party tomorrow for her. I love you Lorelei you are our miracle!

I'll leave you with the words to my new favorite Celine Dion song "Miracle", this song sums up exactly how I feel about being a mother and having such a sweet baby girl.

Miracle - Celine Dion

You're my life's one Miracle,
Everything I've done that's good
And you break my heart with tenderness,
And I confess it's true
I never knew a love like this till you....

You're the reason I was born
Now I finally know for sure
And I'm overwhelmed with happiness
So blessed to hold you close
The one that I love most
With all the future has so much for you in store
Who could ever love you more?

The nearest thing to heaven,
You're my angel from above
Only God creates such perfect looooove

When you smile at me, I cry
And to save your life I'll die
With a romance that is pure heart,
You are my dearest part
Whatever it requires,
I live for your desires
Forget my own, needs will come before
Who could ever love you more?

Well there is nothing you could ever do,
To make me stop, loving you
And every breath I take,
Is always for your sake
You sleep inside my dreams and know for sure
Who could ever love you more?

Tattoo Help PLEASE!

Hi all,

Well I thought I would share some stuff that I've been trying to figure out lately. OK here goes ... I REALLY WANT a tattoo! But this tattoo has special meaning to me. I've wanted one for years and in my twenties I was so TOTALLY going to get a sun on my ankle. At the time I was a server at a seafood restaurant in Orlando called Shell's and was at the beach on my days off, totally a beach chic! I'm so glad I didn't get that because it really wouldn't have much meaning to me now. The tattoo I want to get is because of my sweet baby girl, Lorelei. She is my inspiration and joy! She will always be my daughter and I will always love her no matter what. I want a piece of art to signify my love for her. My original idea was to have her birth flower which is the carnation (pink) with her name. The carnation is the birth flower for January and it also symbolizes a mother's love which is why it's often given out to mother's on Mother's Day. Now being a designer I thought this would be a simple task to take on, just a flower and a name, but the more I think about it the more I don't want it to look like something everyone else has, I need to mix it up a bit. I'm drawing a blank though. One thought was to have like a gust of wind blowing the flower and petals around because she was a complete and unexpected surprise to Jason and I. Another idea was to have one of those cute vintage swallows holding onto a banner with her name and somehow incorporating the flower in there and if it's not too much to ask I want a heart somewhere. I also like those swirls and scripts they often do. I don't know where to start!! UGH! I've looked at numerous websites, watch Miami Ink and LA Ink, looked at magazines and nothing is coming to me. I don't know if I'm doing too much in one tattoo because I'm not sure what works and I don't want a super HUGE piece of art on me. I'm thinking of putting it on the inside of my ankle or on the backside of my wrist. Any opinions, ideas and thoughts are WELCOME! I'm a tattoo virgin and not sure where to start, can anyone help me??? Thanks so much!!
