Well it's been months since I've been able to participate in an IF topic! Of course I had to do another bird! LOL
Meet Edgar the wide party bird! It's just not a party until he's invited. Edgar is the life of the party and loves to flap his wings to get some good air, just watch out below you don't want him landing on you!!!
Enjoy!

Illustration Friday - Excess
I have an excess of love in my life, my family, extended family, friends and more. I am blessed to have such excess of love. I am so grateful.
This is something I did this year that I think fits with today's topic of Excess. This is also a print in my Etsy shop. It was done in pen & ink and then digitally colored in Photoshop. Enjoy!

Illustration Friday - Superstition
My take on "superstition". This was a pencil drawing then I redrew it into PS and added a few details. The patterned textures are from Angie Briggs - Bubblegum Machine - Digital Scrapbooking set.
Little story to go with it: When little Matilda wanted to play with her new umbrella indoors, her mother quickly scolded her and told her it was bad luck. Guess her mother was a bit "superstitious". So being the good little girl that she was, she went outdoors and played with her new friends (the birds).
Enjoy! :)

Illustration Friday - Scales
So I'm a few days late but it's better than never!!
All the other birds admired George's lovely but unusual scales ... and George was proud!

Illustration Friday - Trick or Treat
Poor little ghost can't seem to reach the candy corn, the tree is playing a mean trick on this little guy. His buddy hiding behind the tree has obviously scared the cat and doesn't really seem to care about the candy dangling in front of them.
My little Halloween themed piece of art was quite the challenge for me. I didn't want to do something obvious but it still ended up that way. I think it's cute though. Enjoy!

Illustration Friday - Grow
Today's topic for IF was "Grow", I had thought of doing something a little more obvious that included plants or flowers but then this idea hit me! My little 9 month old daughter is constantly growing like a weed and growing out of her socks, hence my little illo for today. The text at the top says, "as they family grew, so did their socks." I had to include my "Swirlyville" birds because they're so friendly and fun!!! Enjoy!

Illustration Friday - "Extreme"
My concept for this weeks topic "Extreme". It's basically just an extremely twisted tree with a little Fall theme thrown in. All drawn in Photoshop using different brushes and my trusty little Wacom that I LOVE! Not sure if I'll sell it as a print yet or just keep it to myself. Opinions? Update: It's now a print in my Etsy shop! LOL

Open - Illustration Friday
My design for this week's IF topic "open". The concept being her arms are open to everyone, you need to have an open heart, she's in the opening of the circle. This is a photo I took in Montreal, Quebec a few years back. It's a statue on the facade of Notre Dame, I thought it was beautiful as I had never noticed it before, I've been to this church a million times to look at its beauty and this day just noticed this statue of Mary. Crazy what you see and don't see, huh? I think it illustrates the topic well! Enjoy!!!

The Juggle
Just my little drawing for this weeks Illustration Friday theme "Juggle". The concept is that one branch is trying to juggle all the little birdies, the last little red birdie is falling off so he's trying to hold on!! Can you tell I love birdies!!?? Digitally drawn into Photoshop with my Wacom. Enjoy! This is also on products in my Cafepress shop and prints in my Etsy shop.

Wedding - Illustration Friday

I was trying to think of what I could for the wedding theme on IF and lately I've been on a bird kick. This is what I came up with as a quick idea. I don't have much time to work on it this week so this will have to do. I think it's cute though. The idea is when you get married you're hearts are locked tight together with the key, hence "you have the key".
